Problem Solving and Digital Transformation: Acquiring Skills through Pretend Play in Kindergarten

One of the crucial 21st-century digital skills, in context transformation, is problem solving—equally so fields science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). In kindergarten, learning through play central; therefore, pretend play, particularly guided suggested as an innovative way to foster skills for solving. As yet, potential children’s about transformation problem-solving processes has hardly been researched. The paper examines how children solve problems play. explorative intervention study “We future”, information technology center (IT center) introduced one corners kindergartens, together with other inputs such a smart home corner (Internet Things) or autonomous vehicles. Children’s was video recorded. From 15 participating 13 h sequences involving IT were analyzed using content analysis. findings indicate that identify situation them strategies, devising new applications installing software.
